Consolidated Err 7 and Lag Thread
In order to avoid the need for posting in multiple threads, I thought I would make a single thread that we all can share info concerning the problem.
The bottom line is there are about 20 various threads throughout the GW forums that refer to the recent rise in err 7 and lag issues. The themes are fairly consistent: rubberbanding, slow zone loading, frequent disconnects, and player freezes while in game.
PLEASE NOTE: This post is ONLY for those of you that have had a working copy of the game up until the last few days. This isn't for vid card issues or other various ongoing problems.
I have submitted two trouble tickets so far and have yet to receive a response. I can recreate the error on 4 different machines. Each machine has run the game flawlessly before and is well above the hardware requirements. I have two machines on an entirely different network in a different location. For both environments I control all routers, firewalls, and any security. All necessary changes and port openings have been taken care of.
Up to this point I have NEVER had one issue. Flawless performance since the day the game was released.
Please post here if you have similar issues, resolution ideas, or an official response from ANET

Started up the game about 10 mins ago and had the update downloaded. I figured this update was to fix the current issues with connecting to US servers.... Wrong! The lag is still as bad as it was yesterday and to be frank, ANet seem more concerned about PvP X than they do about this issue. If they don't fix this problem, which is now running into day 3, then they can forget any worthwhile participation in PvP X. If ANet are reading this, why not try fixing the game before organising any events, hmmm?

Never had a problem before today, well the occasional little bit of lag, but right now its ridiculous, the game is practically unplayable, am in a mission and keep freezing for 10-30 seconds, play for about 4 seconds, then freeze again, why on earth is it so bad?!

This is getting very very annoying - I have never had a problem with connection issues or with lag (apart from the occasional rubberbanding) im on a T1 too.
But for the past few days Guildwars freezes - when im in outposts, players zoom across maps - teleporting here and there, when im for example starting a mission - I hit enter and the loading gets to 100% and freezes - the game has become literally un playable. Ive never had this problem before until the last couple of days.
I've even went to the lengths of Reformatting my PC installing again etc...and still the same problems.
It isnt my PC or my Firewall or my internet connection...what is going on!

Yesterday, the latency was insane. I couldn't move for long periods, even for minutes.
Today, it seems just as bad.
I played one round in arena and had to turn the game off again.

I used to get Err=7 all the time, but I haven't had it for a while now, although since two days ago the lag has been insane, I actually can't play the game, about 30 seconds after logging in my character comes to a halt, I always end up just having to exit the game, I am sure the problem isnt from my end as my computer's specs are above the games recomended and my connection has worked almost lag free since I got it.

so much for pvp weekend - its brought nothing but problems for my gaming experience - I was looking forward to the bonus faction points and now i cant even play without the game freezing every 10-15minutes.....

I hope they sort this out soon, I had a guild alliance uw trip planned this weekend

I got home now....still lagging like crazy. Cant move my character in towns, or even speak to guild for that matter. Looks like no faction for me =(

Never had any lag/disconnect/error 7 problems until like 2 days ago. Now its just insane lag, 2mins to enter a city..... connecting...., enter arena......connecting....match already started.....connecting.....trying to run.....cant move.....
Hope Anet fix this asap, because the game is completly unplayable atm 4 me

I just wish they would give us a frigging explanation - they are completely disregarding all our support requests , Ive found that in the International Districts the game runs without a flaw - but as soon as you zone , go on a mission ect the lag kicks straight back in and the game becomes unplayable ....

I just Err = 7'd again. I too just wish they would make some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem. Logged back in, and after taking 5 mins to load ember light camp, I took around 30 secs to expert salvage a rune. Moving my character is as ever, out of the question.

just for a note.
today, after i logged into the game and playing it like 1hr, my WinblowsXP booted itself. ok. BUT, it has been doing that since then. 6th time today. that update
is the only one in my computer, within 5days. i mean no other (video/network/yaddayadda) components nor programs didn't get an update, so its PRETTY SURE that GW's own update did something...
which drunkenly, is the main point in my post.
keep the works up
//ed:fuzzy engrish. this situation explained ^^ happens only while playing GW.

I've been getting the Err=7 msg after entering my password or selecting a character for the first time this weekend as well. However, I just moved into my dorm, so ive been thinking it was the campus network, until I read this post......well I guess ill just have to wait...

Several err 7 , and freezes while in Mineral Springs the past 2 days. lag has made the game more than a grind now...............guildmates are getting frustrated with this as well as other recent changes..............so the lag certainly is not helping things right now.
