First of all I want to say that this board is a very useful one, I havent had to sign up becaise I always find the answer to my questions just by browsing the threads But tonight as I was playing I ran into a sudden problem..............as I was playing.

that was just for a short while but thought it was worth a post.

this one speaks for itself. Textures arent blending

My specs:

AMD64 3200+
2X 512 Kingston PC2700 33MHZ DDR
Video Card: Leadtek Nvidia 6800 GT
MSI K8N Neo Platinum MB

I updated my drivers to the 81.85 and i got no changes, as far as blending goes. So I went ahead and tried the 81.87 forceware beta drivers with no change still. I set my control panel settings to High Quality, Quality, vert sync off, no AA. Im kinda stumped and would like any input.

Im suprised because it happened during gameplay. There were a couple updates recently in the game, but didnt notice any changes in video.

TIA for any help.

Cheers

EDIT: BTW, I tested all my other games (Quake 4, Dawn of War, HL2) and I didnt have any problems. this seems to be an isolated issue with GW.

Go back to the 78.01 drivers. The 81.85 & beta 81.87 drivers DO NOT work correctly with GW. This is posted all over the boards and it's even in the release notes that came with the drivers.

The 81.85 drivers have a known issue with the 6xxx cards. I updated and had the box terrain, was driving me nuts, rolled back to the 71.89's and have no problem.

Nvidia has a bad reputation with releasing horrible drivers that are usually bound to not work with 1-2 of today's most popular games -.-

I believe HL2 and CSS users had huge issues with the 77.79 drivers.

I've had an Nvidia card since the TNT and Nvidia's card drivers were always MUCH better than ATIs were for their cards. It has only been in the last couple of years that ATI has gotten their act together with their drivers.

It's true that there are problems with with Nvidia's driver but it's not always Nvidia's fault...sometimes a software company will do something a little off spec and it will cause problems.

ATI's drivers are MUCH better than Nvidia for Guild Wars. Never had any issues with ATI's drivers since the game was launched in Apr. Have been updating drivers monthly too.

But for Doom 3 and Quake 4, Nvidia's drivers are better...

Depends who pays the bills I guess.

Each game has it's ups and downs with video card manufacturers. It seems like Nvidia has trouble with HL2/CSS as well, but then ATI has trouble on games like FEAR and BF2.

Just like you said, whoever pays the bills.
