Default MAJOR graphical glitch

Ok guys and gals. For some time I have been getting STRANGE graphical glitches with Guild Wars (every time and within an hour sometimes as soon as five minutes) and lately FEAR and NOW City of Heroes and City of Villians. I really can't explain the graphical glitch, nor take a screenshot, BUT I did take a picture of the monitor at the time of the crash
Here are my specs

AMD 2.6
ASUS A7N8X
BFG 6800 GT OC 81.85 (but have tried ALL drivers from 71.89)
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Nforce Sound card (current card, but have tried both cards.)
DirectX 9.0c
1 GB of RAM
320 GB Hard Drive.
350W power supply (I realize this may be an or the issue)
7 Case fans and heat never gets to the alarm range.

I have been and still am able to play Doom 3, Half Life 2, Silent Hunter 3, UT2004 and pretty much any other game with no issue for hours and even days at a time.

I have attached the picture of the screen(I think). Let me know what you think.

If the picture doesn't show up just go to the following addess

(edit) I can't read >< - was saying drop to 7x drivers

Try running test on your memory to make sure it's not a faulty memory address in ram.

I meant to mention this but forgot. I ran Memtest for 12 hours with no errors.

Ok then underclock a litte because your either getting artifacts ir your GPU is overheating, or a combination of both.

Ok stupid question... how do you underclock a GPU that is overclocked by default from the company?

Oh wait, I forgot you have a BFG... XD

Well you can try the coolbits registy hack:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/V...Bits-Reg.shtml

Basically what this does is unlocks overclocking options for your video card, letting you underclock. But BFG clocks well so that probably isn't the issue, as they test and make sure the card is stable before it is shipped off.

I recommend looking into a newer PSU, mainly 400W +

To be honest if it just started happening that isn't gonna do a dang thing. Besides the most common updates for motherboards are just BIOS flashes :-\

I will try the underclocking thing and then attempt to get a new PSU as soon as possible. Hopefully one of those two things will fix this problem.

A 6800...320GB hard drive and 7 case fans on a 350W power supply!

I'll bet the power supply is the issue. Disconnect 5 or so of the fans for a short time and see how it runs. You may have to point a house fan at it but it will see if your P.S is the issue (unless, of course, it's about to die).

I said the PSU was probably the issue as the clock speed of the GPU wouldn't just suddenly decide to make artifacts appear.

Your PSU is just probably getting to it's max wattage supply, and that isn't good.

He's not the only one having this problem. I have the exact same problem. This only started after the last 2 updates (Nov 10/11) and GW is the only game the causes it. So I tend to point the finger at GW. I tried everything from rolling back my drivers, to fresh installing my entire system to include GW, no dice. Maybe the devs need to take a closer look at this and isolate this problem? I'm about to retire my copy of GW back to the shelf because as it stands now the game is unplayable.

Then it could be texture issues, but I don't notice it so it must be only for certain people.

No, I haven't had a chance yet, that's on my list of things to do later today after work.
