Exclamation Video Issue

is there a reason my friend's game screen appears like this randomly throughout playing? Takeing screenshots would solve the problem for a little while, but i managed to snag a shot of the problem itself.

U've probably heard this and just forgot this time, but it'd help if you listed your friend's computer specs. If I'm just guessing I'm going to say update your video drivers and see if that makes a difference. However, if you own a geforce series 6 or 7 of cards I actually suggest you roll back a driver because the latest ones seem to cause some problems in guild wars.

That graphics card is very old first off. It might work anyway but i think you need to update your direct x. Latest is 9.0c .

If hes not sure about what dx hes running. Click on Start menu>Run> and type dxdiag. The following screen should tell him. Aslo update your video card drivers. Im not sure if geforce3 have bundled drivers like the geforce 4 and so on.

Judging by the pictures it looks like its shader related. I would definitly install the new direct x.

yeah i updated his drivers for him. That seemed to mainly help the problem of random minimizing, and 10 mins to bring the GW screen back up. I tell him about 9.0c though, thanks.

Those problems were fixed in the new (81.95) drivers.
