1GB PC4000 Shikatronics DDR

1280x1024, 4xAA, 8xAF, v-sync on, everything maxed in-game.

Everything runs... Flawless. No slowdown except maybe in window mode, but that's normal. Got this awesome computer for 2450 USD back in July 2004.

Athlon 64 3000+ 754
512Mb DDR PC3200 Corsair XMSXL
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128Mb
Sceptre KomodoIV 19" LCD

Runs excellent at:
1280x1024 (native resolution)
70hz
Anti-aliasing: Off
Terrain Quality: High
Reflections: Default
Texture Quality: High
Shadow Quality: Medium
Post-process effects enabled
Radeon 3D set to Balanced

The shadows can be set to high with little performance hit, though it does run slightly smoother on medium. Enabling 2x anti-aliasing is where things start to get jerky with lower framerates.

Alright, I don't yet own the game but I'd like to see if my assumptions are anywhere in the right ballpark.

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
ATI Radeon 128MB 9800 Pro
1.00GB dual channel DDR

I'm hoping to run it on 1024x768 no AA/AF, high/maximum settings for terrain, textures, shadows, particle effects and what not. This game from what I read seems to be pretty easy on one's system despite how great it looks. Hopefully this setup will allow a good experience with no lag, eh?

1024x768

texture high
shadow medium

game is semi unplayable

will get 65-70fps for 5-6 minutes then it will drop to 5-15fps for 1 or 2 minutes no clue what the problem is.

Asus K8V-SE K8T800 Motherboard
AMD Athlon64 3400+ Socket 754 @ 2.4GHz
2Gb OCZ Platinum PC3200 RAM
Chaintech Nvidia Geforce 6600GT 128mB DDR3

Playing in 1280x960 (desktop resolution) in full detail with 4x full-screen antialiasing and forced 16x anisotropic filtering. No visual lag to speak of, ever. The only thing I have disabled is the post-process effects option, because frankly, bloom annoys me and gives me headaches. =)

For some reason, though, I drop to 5fps when recording a video with fraps even with the half-size setting. Any ideas?

Alienware AREA 51.

P4 3.46extreme (1000+ FSB)
1gig DDR-II (533)
Twin Seagate 160gig on RAID 0
PNY NVIDIA 6800 ULTRA (256mb)
21" Diamontron Screen.

Settings
1600x1200
4x AA
All other settings on max

100hz refresh rate!!!!! this is the first game I know that has an ingame option for this, with VSYNC makes a hell of a difference.. much smoother.

Everything runs very smooth.. but it does lag a bit in town areas.. and times when battle gets a bit intense, if its too distracting them I turn it down to 1280 85hz and its peachy

Alienware really kicks ass with this game and my Screenshots are superb quality.. excelent for when I make my GW website

Some games and i do belive Guild wars is one of them have problems when Anti-Alisasing is enabled. I have an ATI 9200 with it dissabled and set res at 1024x768 and it works great. So i suggest disable Anti-Alisasing and see if that helps.

Haha, oh yes, easily... heck, my specs are lower than yours and I'm running it on 1280x1024 with those settings.

Don't worry man, this game isn't that hard on your video card... and it still looks great!

Necro Batai, if you're trying to run AA/AF witht hat kind of card, that's your problem.

A 9200 is only slightly faster than a monkey with a dry-erase board.

And its an ATI card.. which in my (proffesional) opinion is less reliable in terms of compatability.

Lol J/K

AMD XP 3200
1.5 Gig PC3200
Geforce 5700 256Meg
250gig Seagate
70gig Western Digitial 10k RPM
21in CRT Mag
21in LCD Plasma (secondary on DVI)

I can run GW at full settings, 1024x with AAx4 with no lag and it looks amazing, with no AA it still looks amazing but I haven't seen a difference in performence.

Oh, and to change AA/AF preferences, go into your ATI control panel, and you should be able to tweak most things by clicking the "3d" tab and just going from there. (I think it's the 3d tab... correct me if I'm wrong)
Thanks Chubz, I just tried it at 6/16 AA/AF lagged abit at the start to gather up the players and such. But after the first minute or so, the game ran fine and much more beautiful! But I rather keep my AA/AF at it's bare minimum 4/2 (I guess) because I also run winamp, and other programs while playing.
Don't wanna overload my comp oo;

Yeah, too much AA/AF can really be a burden on your graphics card... that's why I just simply never use it. On more graphics-intensive PC games out there (especially first-person shooters) it really cripples performance.

Your system is more powerful than mine (posted earlier), and I can run with the settings you describe at 1280x1024 very smoothly. Since you have a 9800 Pro, I'd bet that those settings with even AA enabled would run very smoothly at 1024x768.
