Well I've given up on trying to Reinstall it...now I have decided to just resinstall Windows. I tried last night but it seemed like it only resintalled Windows...not erase the whole hard drive and restart everything, like I want. So what do I do to restart everything...restart my Windows from scrath....I want everything off by resintallting Windows. I've done it before. What must I do?

I beleive what you are doing is going for installation without a format.

what you sound like you want is a reformat and an installation.

#1. Make sure you have a valid (or working *wink*) bootable copy of windows xp on hand with serial number.

#2. make backups of everything you need by wither transferring to a FTP server or burning as data files on to CD-ROMs or whatever else you'd like to do to save data.

#3. insert windows disc into CD-rom drive.

#3. Restart computer.

#4. As the computer boots, it should read the Windows boot file and ask you to press a key if you want to boot from disk. Press any key.

#5. The configuration manager should ask you if you want to load the automatic system recovery (ASR). Just wait for a few moments and let it move on. it will start loading configuration files followed by asking you if you want to install a fresh copy of windows.

#6. Agree to the lisence agreement. the setup will then ask you if you want to reformat the drive. Press the appropriate key to reformat. Choose the regular Format rather than the Quick Format.

Let the setup format the drive. Go and read a book or watch TV for the neext couple of hours. after the reformat windows will automatically copy the installation files and install windows xp.
