Havin a problem with mssearchnet. Ive found the file but cant delete it because i get this error:

"Cannot Delete mssearchnet: It is being used by another program or person
Close any programs that might be using the file."

I exit it in task manager and it keeps restarting itself.

Im running these anti-spyware programs:
Spybot
Spyware Doctor
Adware SE Personal
CWShredder

Also norton anti virus

Can i delete files while theyre running so i dont get that error? Are there any other ways to get rid of it, as all of my programs cant find it.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you done this while in safe mode? You should always handle your viruses/spyware in safemode under administrator for best removal. There you are less likely to have the file being used and you can delete it. And, I don't think there are many norton fans around, so one might suggest you try something like AVG-free once your subscription runs out

Also, make sure after you remove the mssearchnet that you thoroughly scan your computer for viruses since the mssearchnet's function is to download viruses onto your computer. So use your norton, and there are some good online viruses scanners available that don't need downloaded/installed.

yep try safe-mode.. on boot right after post keep hitting F8 you'll get a menu- select safe mode and remove it in there

or you can go to start, run, type 'msconfig', go to the boot.ini tab, select safe boot, press ok, restart your comp, and try to delete it again. Then go back to the msconfig menu and de-select it and it should restart normally again.

note: safeboot makes your comp work really crappy and with a black background so dont freak out.
