Default Problem with windows pop-ups

Whenever I run a game on my computer it has to minimize it every few seconds because a little window that pops up saying windows has detected spyware infection and that it recommends using spyware tools to minimize data loss. I click on the icon but nothing pops up and I've ran a million different spyware zappers and zirus scans but they never find anything. Does anyone know what I can do?

Ok, that popup you get IS spyware, sadly you have clicked on it, and that has most probably added more infection, try these microsoft' antispyware and spybot search and destroy.http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Antispyware you'll get from microsoft website

One more thing to do- get rid of Internet Explorer. It sucks

Run frequent spyware checks (1-2 times a week for me).

Delete Cookies, History, Internet files, etc. about once a week.

I would install and update

Microsoft Anti-Spyware/Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

Spybot Search & Destroy (as linked to above)

Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Each one has it's own strength’s and weakness. Make sure there up to date and then run each one. By checking with all 3, your more likely remove 100% of your spyware problem.

/puts on dunce cap... YES! Ad-aware! forgot to add that one(I use it too... ) But make SURE that its the one WITH THE HYPHEN! If theres no hypen "Ad aware"(is spyware site) vs "Ad-aware"(genuine), its an easy mistake to make, so be careful!

You were right about it being from internet explorer. I downloaded spybot search & destroy and got rid of it. For some reason my other scans missed it. Thanks for the help once again.

I have trouble with Spy-Bot at work on my work computers. Most of the time I cannot download the updates. It will come back a Bad Checksum. Any ideas as to why this happens? Sometimes it will "catch" and download but, it will take a long time to do so....

I noticed that too at work w/spybot. Works fine at home but may be firewall / proxy killing the download on updates.

What I get is very slow download then, they install and it crashes. Then after I kill / terminate / relaunch it appears to of taken the updates. It works fine at home.

Do not get rid of IE. You might/probably will run across programs that require IE in order to run. Then what're you gonna do? lol Just stop using it, that's usually all you need to do.

If you delete files to remove IE you are in a world of hurt for the reason you mentioned.

If you want to add/remove and "removed access" to IE it's still there but hidden for you.

Now if you are running Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 our lower you can find programs grams that will actually allow you to do that (and then try to install Ms Office )

I had this problem every time there was an update. what you gotta do is manually select the download site when it says there is an update available. I use the following {BN FileForum (World)} works every time now.
