have you tried ether turning the vid performance down to low, or changing it..(now was it best performance or....drat.)

take a peek at the sticky on fx cards and in game crashes, im sure theres info in there about that particular vid card....

my friend had the problem of all the green grass turning to sand with anything other than low-medium graphics on his....
still, it looked fantastic, even in pre searing with the sand that had tall grass and red flowers poking thru ^^

also, depending on where you are and what time you pvp might also affect the lag part...(though would most likely have nothing to do with the bad rendering...)

assuming your on WinXP, you have made sure theres nothing running in the background that you dont need, like share programs and so on..(talk-to-game progs i expect are needed, so i dont sugest shutting those down) , but msn messenger and so on can be closed....

its amasing sometimes how closing one thing off can help you get better performance sometimes

I am having the same exact problem described by the topic creator using a PCI 5200 also. Except mine sometimes freezes for 7-10 seconds when i open my inventory and when the mission complet shield comes up. any advice on things i can do to fix this problem?

1. PCI video cards are slow. You should expect video lag no matter how good the card is.
2. The FX5xxx series is know to proably be the worst line of cards Nvidia ever released.
