Unhappy Graphics card: need advise

Hi all
I had BFG Geforce 6800GT about a year now.
Last evening(Friday), when I was playing a game, my computer crashed.
I checked my graphics card and found that one of the fan died .
So, if I play a game, my computer will crash due to overheating.

Knowing BFG gives you lifetime warranty with 24/7 tech support, I called them(even today); only to find no one will answer.(They put me on waiting for so long that I literally gave up)
I sent them an email...but still waiting for a reply.

What should I do?
-Should I continue to put hope on BFG warranty?
Do they really repair/replace defect cards and send you the repaired/replaced card?
On warranty, it also says sent card will be sole property of BFG tech, and I'll risk losing my card in transportation process.

-Or, should I change cooling fan by myself and avoid warranty. Considering I never changed video card cooling fan before, it is very tough choice(I'm not really into overclocking either)?
How simple is it to change video card stock cooling fan especially with Geforce 6800GT?
If I buy a fan, does it have instruction manual explaining how to change a fan?
(If this will be the case, what other company makes good, reasonably priced Nvidia cards? One of the main reason I purchased BFG *card* was their advertised warranty...but if it unreliable, I would like to try other company)

It is my first time using BFG tech support...

Any wise word of advise from experienced technician?
Please and thanks for your time.

I hear that this is good, and I think it is compatable with your card.

Now, either way will work. Don't worry about the fine print wording too much, call them, get on with support, and have them point out what might happen.

eVga has a lifetime warranty also, that covers damage by user, unintentional damage, everything, and I would trust them if I sent my graphics card to them. BFG is also a trusted company, and I would send it to them.

Basically, if you have the money, and can get the heatsink before they would send you a new card, go for it. It probably would take a while for the whole replacement process, so whatever you want. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is if there is damage to the card because of the overheating, I am not sure if installing the new fan will void your warranty or not.

Give them a call Monday afternoon. You'll probably catch them then.

There's also BFG tech forums, where you can search for assistance, but that warranty is too sweet to void it. Just be a bit patient, they're known for upgrading people's RMAs...

I got an email reply from BFG.
They told me to contact BFG via phone though.
But no matter how long I wait on the phone...no one is availiable

If you think my card might have damaged when it overheated, I'll keep try to contact them. Hopefully someone will answer.

If anyone has more advise, or have a good idea, that would be nice too.
Hope everything will go well.
Thanks

Edit: Ok, I'll try on Monday too...or any weekdays. I feel little more comfortable to hear that BFG is known for good RMAs. Thanks =)
