Default GW Is Taking Over My Comp?

Although I have like a 250 GB Hardrive, I am slightly worrired about how big GW is (about 2.7 GB for me). As more and more expansions come out, this file size will only get bigger and bigger. I know, this is probably inevitable, but it would be nice, if Anet could maybe do something about this. I know it is not a whol lot already - but GW has the potential to become a huge file that could potentially fill up someone's hardrive without them knowing (with all the streaming and all)

Anyways, I have been thinking about getting a seperate "Guild Wars HD"... I don't know... just a thought.

I thought about that but, by the time GW gets really huge, it will be time for a new hard drive anyway.

You mean, that your GW folder is 2.7 GB with screens taken in game.
You should save those pictures in .jpg format and you will get a lot of space.
My gw.dat is 1.8 GB and the 747 pics in jpg is just 146 MB.

2.7GB out of a 250GB drive is 1%

Sounds like you have something else clogging up your drive

EDIT: Corrected my horrible math skills, I pwned myself there Gimme a break, long day at work!

No, no, no. My DAT file is 2.7 GB. My screenshots are another story altogether. You are right, though, I should convert them to a smaller file type.

Yeah, I know it is a relatively small file now. But, I am worried that it will get huge after update after update and expansion after expansion.

Mine is 1.55G.... this is with the PreOrder installed (well just the keys since there is no need for me to install a 2nd client).

I think you are over reacting a bit...

with modern hard drives, this is pretty much a non-issue. i'd rather have a large file with updates downloaded the way they are now than insert cd's all the time and have huge patches. streamed is the way to go.

Pffffft, you guys lack dedication. I bought my computer EXCLUSIVELY for Guild Wars specification. There's no other softwares on this baby, only Guild Wars, and it has another 200 gb for future expansions.. bring it on baby

/no sarcasm

yeah really most games are way over what Guild Wars will ever use, for instance I have HL/HL2/CSS installed only a few of the available Steam games I can play with my account and it's already over 5 GB.
