Ok, sometimes when I map travel or enter a new zone (anything that brings up the load screen) the server will time-out.

I originally sent my problem to Anet and they did a diagnostic of my network with some dos program. It designated that ports 6112 and 80 were being blocked.

So I took the problem up with my network administrators, they checked to make sure the ports were open. After a lot of complaining on my part they eventually checked the actual connection in my room (I connect through an ethernet). The internet had no time-out problems on the admin's laptop and we checked every program that could possible block these ports. After finding nothing at all that could block acces (firewall allowed exeptions, virus programs were set correctly, lots of other stuff I didn't understand...etc) he suggested that I reformat my hard drive.

I just reformatted my drive today and got on for the FPE....and I am still encountering the problem (the campus administrators helped me load all of the drivers and antispyware stuff before connecting to the network). When all else fails I assume I could ask you guys....has anyone had this problem and fixed it, or does anyone know of something else I can try??

I just bought the collectors edition of Factions, I don't want to be stuck not being able to play GW anymore . Thanks in advance.

Hey guys I haven't gotten any replies in a few days, so this is a bump...I really need help. Should I comletelely unlock ports 6112 and 80 on the firewall? I tried it earlier but the problem soon came back, so I reset it because unlocking an entire port seemed risky (I looked at some history through windows defender and a lot of threats got through because the ports were univerally unlocked.)

Well the port related thing is with port fowarding. This should only be a problem if you use a router
