The 7900GT is like a 7800GTX.

If I were you, I wouldn't get the 7600, instead I would pay $300 for an eVga 7900GT.

The FX cards are awful, especially for newer games. They are not designed for intensive pixel shading, but they will run older games fine. Do not buy one at any price today, however.

Of what's out now I'd get a 7900GT or X1900XT for a high end choice. Mid range, the 7600GT is unbeatable. AGP people only have the 7800GS as a good high end choice with the old 6600GT being a good mid/low option too. Stay away from X1600 cuz NV's equiv 7600GT will beat it handily, and the X850 on down cards can't do Shader Model 3 which will surely become more important.

The 7600 IS beatable. 7900GT for $50 more you get that much more performance. HELL, the 7900GT costs teh same as the 7800GT, but it is the equivalent of a 7800GTX!!!

True...but sometimes you are stretching just to meet the 7600 Price and that extra $50.00 is just not there.
