Question Computer Lag?

Hello, I've been getting some bad lag in Guildwars and I had to turn my settings down and I still get it!

My comp specs:

Athlon64 3700+? 37 or 38
2 gigs of ram.
7800GT Evga
250 gig hard drive
I shouldnt be getting this kind of lag at all!

If anyone has any ideas I would love it!

You should explain the lag you're getting. I also recommend downloading fraps so you can check your framerates as you play (it will have to be configured to show frames in a particular corner, I believe).

I'm not sure if there's a built-in framerate monitor in GW, but FRAPS is pretty useful anyway.

I've had a few instances (before the directx update anet did) where my frames would mysteriously drop down to 20. It was horrid. But since the update about a week ago it's long gone.

same with me, I never lagged in GW before, The only thing I can see a pattern in so far is that I have an nvidia, a friend at work who said teh same uses nvidia and you have nvidia, I think it is the new drivers personally. login screen even lags. I have been to lazy to roll back the drivers to check.

Are you sure that it's your computer and not your connection?

I just jumped from the 70 series ForceWare drivers to the latest revision in the 80 series...zero lag.

Update Drivers. Might be an ISP thing, also could be a problem with surround sound settings, which was my case

With your computer I'd first check the internet, most likely it's the connection causint the troubles, but can you describe the lag, is it that your character gets transported back after you run, or does the computer sometimes just stop, or slow loading everything
