Exclamation sound lags in game

Im not sure how to explain this but here goes....

Im not lagging, BUT my sound is. When the game is minimized, I can hear the music, effects background smooth and clean. No sudden lag pauses or interval pauses. When I bring the game up to full screen, the sound sounds like CRAP. Im getting like 1 sec interval pauses. The sound is not clear, its not clean or anything. Its like turning a fan on low and speaking through the fan. Your voice is crackled up and pauses your voice every sec.

This never happened before, but I had to reformat my harddrive recently and I was forced to download the client online because the game froze during installation from the cd's I had.

Now the game runs great with no to lil lag at all, but now my sound is lagging VERY bad.

HELP!!! *sniff sniff*

Read around. There have been all sorts of sound-related problems for weeks now. It's not just you. It's incredibly frustrating, but so far no true fix has been discovered / implemented. There are a few home-made remedies out there that work for some people, but those don't even always work. Bad as I hate to say it, you have no choice but to wait it out for Anet to fix this properly.

Why did they ever alter the Audio anyways? All it's done is cause problems and the only way it would make a slight difference in quality is for the select few that.

1. Have an expensive setup
2. Actually listen to in-game music and
3. Care about a slight difference in sound

Someone should start a petition to change it back to the way it was before.

I just wanted to resurrect this post to report that Gaile has sent word:

The sound problem has been tackled and fixed. ITs in the pipe so the update should come soon. Probabaly some time this week.

It really hasn't been completely sovled. Ever since the factions event my game lags like crazy with lots of sound effects going on. The only way to play smoothly is to turn the quality all the way down now.

ITs a SECOND FIX.

Some time THIS WEEK.

Not the FIRST ONE that didn't solve everything.
