Default 4/06 Game Update = No more Sound FX

I don't know if any other people have this problem, but ever since the latest update, I can't hear anymore sound fx. The only sound I hear from GW now is the music. Anyone know what happened?

Give this a try:

Get the most current DirectX - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Grab the most current version of your sound card driver.

If you have a Creative Labs sound card (Live,Audigy,X-Fi) you can use this site to automatically determine if there are any newer drivers. http://www.creative.com/language.asp...wnloads/su.asp

Eternal Tempest - Thank you so much!!! The DirectX install worked.

I was reluctant to install it , because i had done a Start>Run>dxdiag and it said my version was current. Well, I don't know about these things I guess....THANKS TONS ET!!!!

You have me very curious now.

What version of windows were you both running and what sound card did you have?

I have the latest version of DirectX and there are no new drivers for my (old) sound card but I haven't had ANY sound in GW for a week now. It's eerie playing, don't like it at all.

Same thing here. Just about to try your fix. Hate not having sfx, can't hear target calls, map pings, attacks, or even PM ping. Just hope it works for me...
Thanks for your posts.

This update actually fixed my sound. I did not experience many sound drop outs before but whenever I did my fps would go down to like >10. It was unbearable. Thanks to the update I am back to my regular 60-70

I ended up having to reinstall DirectX (the version just out) to fix the GW problem. Don't know what the problem was...had sound for everything else on the pc.
