Default Problem with Vent

This isnt exactly GW related, but it is affecting my gameplay, wondered if anyone knows how to fix this.

For some reason when i'm using vent (ver2.3.0) there are a few servers where I am unable to hear whats being said. For example clearservers and nrgservers.
I can be using Gw-Vent fine and having no problems and then I switch to a different server and all i have are little green lights flashing and no sound.
Is there something in the settings I need to adjust? Maybe there are different setups for different servers.
If anyone has heard of this or knows what this is caused by I would appreciate some input.
To clarify - using gw-vent fine and dandy - switch to a clearserver vent (whilst making no changes to setup) - having no sound - confused.

(btw, the first person who says to turn up the sound gets a Sundering Broadsword around the back of the head.)

Only thing I can think of is that they are using a high quality codec on their vent server, and for some reason your sound card does not support it. Compare your usual server codec and the others by clicking setup, and then near the bottom left corner it should say Codec, which 99% of the time is GSM 6.10 and then below it says format. Higher the number, the higher the quality.

Ok Im resurrecting this thread, it seems the ones i have trouble with are the GSM 6.10 - 44khz servers.
I have a soundblaster 24 bit sound card, should I be having this problem with this card?

Its getting real annoying now
