Default Can't Connect

Ever since the last update, GW dosn't get any further than this.

I'm running spyware and AV scanes right now, and my firewall isn't blocking GW. Perhaps a port is blocked somehow? I really don't know why GW won't connect, and with only 15hrs to go before head start, this is really starting to bother me.

make sure you have your AV's firewall turned off as well...

the port for guild wars is TCP 80 and 6112

might wnat to look into your router settings if you have one as well

Having the same issue also

try the suggestions in both these threads.
I'm at work and wont be home for another 5 hours so I cannot confirm that they resolve the problem

It seems that everytime there is a new build the error message comes up.

Oh also go to guildwars.com and put in a call to technical support.

This way they know that the new patch is screwing with people's PCs

There are a number of people who are having this issue and Anet needs to know about it.

Fixed! Deleted firewall, reinstalled, and now everything is running fine.Strange that the firewall would act up at the same time of the new build but o well, just happy to have GW back.Lost out on about 100K due to down time :[

I think it works because at first ur firewalls unblocks the program but then because of an update and there are changes, the firewall might reconginize it as a new program and will block it.

Please make sure u check not only your microsoft firewall but ur AV firewall as well.

Dude, your issue is with your firewall, it has almost nothing to do with what were talking about.

Anyways, I hope Anet can release a patch for those of us that are having the problem...
