ehhh... I'd avoid emachines if you can, but it does look like you're going to end up having to get a "budget" computer. :/

Emachines are pretty good...I bought mine for 539 with 1024MB of RAM. 200GB of Hard Drive, GeForce 6100 and etc...why avoid it? the only trouble that I have it my emachine is most times I restart my pc it comes up press F11 for recovery then ity starts a 3 sec. countdown then it says MBR error

eh...personally don't like emachines....

I've got a Walmart Compaq Presario....40GB HDD, 256MB Ram, 2.00GHz, AMD Sempron. It was like $400 (U.S. Dollars). The only thing that I had to do is get the Video Card (Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 4000. Granted I have the minimum requirements to run GW...it works great. I couldn't complain at all . When I say run great i mean the game and the computer...lol....

You can buy a Bare bones system...then add what you need to that. It would take a bit of research on your part...but, what the Hell the NET is full of info. It is not all that hard to add things like Ram chips, Vid Cards, Hard Drives, etc....

I built mine for 600 a year ago and it runs GW qreat. Sometimes zoneing into a crowded city, all the players won't show up right away, just capes hanging in mid air, lol. But never any performance issues or slowdowns. (Edit: I run all details and whatever on max, 1024x768 stupid old pos crt monitor. The screen's not even flat!) I'm sure you could get the same or probably better for around $500.
Abit KV7 mobo
AMD Athalon XP 2900+ (OCed from 2GHz to 2.21 GHz remember, clock speeds on AMDs are lower but perform as well as intels)
2GB ram
Nvidia 6600 256MB 256bit
whatever else you feel you need, I used my hardrive that I already had, 120GB. I also bought a case, $90.
My advise on power supply: don't go cheap. A cheap psu will ruin you pc faster than any other cheap part of the system. Expect to drop a good $60-70 depending on the wattage required by the system. Mine is 500w and cost $90 a year ago. probably ~60ish now. Basically, just ask yourself, save $30 on a cheaper psu now or save $100's later when your system doesn't fry from a POS PSU.

Jeez...you guys make my compuer sounds like junk....LOL....

Yea, the only time I ever get lag is mainly in the towns...it gets aggrevating trying to get places in town, but the world map is a breeze.

My computer was cheap...has minimum requirements for the games I like....and I never really have a big problem.

be sure that your budget computer can accept the card. some of the cheaper computers don't come with AGP slots.

You may want to look into getting into the recovery console and run fixboot c: .. which may fix your issue.. BEWARE it may damage your partition table running this command. - I would only do it if it fails to reboot to avoid the risk for as long as possible.

IMHO i would never touch an e-machine. However, without the knowledge of what stores you have around you, you might have to get one.

Currently I'm custombuilding my friend a

Amd 3000+ venice 939
Biostar 6100 matx nf4
1gb Corsair Ram Value
100gb Pata HD
so that has everything covered, with like a 50$ matx case taht includes psu. I think it comes out to around 450$ish.
