I sure hope you play other games. Cuz that system is certainly overkill for this one. I'd like to see how much it can outperform my $1600 system I built. I would like to think not much, but that's prob. just defensive/jelousy talking.

**goes to read the stats in first post again***

Dayamn...

How do you feel over paying just for the Alienware name? You can a build a system yourself to work more efficiantly than what Alienware gives. Also after all the parts, software and w/e else you put in (case lights, liquid cooling possibly, dual video cards) you will still be hitting maybe half Alienwares price tab with the thought in mind that you build YOUR computer.

AlienWare, we'll do the Building, You do repairing (when something goes wrong).....

AlienWare, OverPriced, Piles of junk that should not have the right to grace this planet....

I could build a better system, Cheaper, with the much better performance, and probably in 1/4 of the time too... :\

Dell is purchasing Alienware, yes. However everything I've read on the topic (Inquirer / THG) would say that Alienware will remain what they are today. Basically Dell bought themselves into the High-end gaming market.

X1600XT PCI-Express
Asus P5LD2 Motherboard

Don't revive 'new' threads? I think you meant old... this one is a month old.

I'm with you on custom building a desktop system any day of the week. For my AW purchase is a notebook... well I guess they call it a "Desktop replacement". But it doesn't replace my desktop, just use it for mobility.

As people would say for some of the crazy priced items in this game, something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. There'll always be someone willing to pay more for a well respected name. I could refer back to the BMW thing...

i have some stats on the bench marking! will get more detailed info when i get home.

3dmark 2005..........................score 33,960

doom3 demo..................................142.9 fps

Played bf2 and GW at the same time with no obvious drop in performance, although the cpu temp and vid card temp rose roughly 16 degrees C. which was alittle un-nerving. BUt overall very impressive!

Crushing performance in BF2, and if you ever played bf2 youll know that its a resoucre hog and lagging as f**k, no where near as smooth as GW, but GW is server side which helps alot.,

Will be running more benchmarks tonight, hopefully i can get the frycry demo and see how she'll do!!!

Peace. Woot woot!

Nice now bench mark it, and will see if your rig is anywhere near those STATS~highly unlikely but OK!!

Many claim to have paid less for comparable performance, but thats like saying that a z06 corvette is just as fast as a lingenfelter corvette, NO CONTEST!

Currently under full load my rig temp is at 33degrees C!!!!!
