New laptop; GW = blue screen of death
Hello,
My old laptop (3yr old Thinkpad T41) played GW like a champ for months. This new laptop (specs below) is supposedly "better" and in fact seems to handle GW better. When I turn off post processing GW plays very fluidly and seemingly flawlessly. However, from time to time I get a blue screen of death related to the video card and the computer restarts. It does not seem related to how long I play the game; sometimes over an hour, sometimes one minute, but it always happens eventually. Clearly this makes missions much more challenging and promotes the development of tourette's syndrome. I *think* this is a memory issue with the vcard as opposed to a heat issue but who knows. Can anyone lend some advice? Much appreciated!
-Specs:
HP manufacturer
XP Pro SP2
Intel Pentium M 1.86 gig
1 gig RAM @ 782 MHz
Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Video Card
latest driver for video card is version 6.14.10.4308 from 4/25/05
Also there's an Intel add-on configuration program for the vcard, with options to adjust things like 3D Settings and Video Overlay. (I'm pretty much a newbie at adjusting these things, but I've tried obvious-sounding tweaks)
