I kept trying to do the same primary quest over and over but I finally gave up since I would get an Err=7 at some random point in the middle every single time forcing me to start over. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

same here, but ive also been getting that code 13 i think it is, the one that doesnt let you into towns because of network issues (or something like that)

I've been getting them a load too in missions. Real pain in the arse.

Its not my ISP, i have a static IP and it never ever drops, i can go on WoW raids for hours upon end, but i get the err=7 in GW a lot!

im that most pissed i go t err7'ed over 10 times in 15 minutes. i was troll farming and guess what? gold fellblade dropped err7ed...i think somethign maybe wrong with the servers or something

Hi there, I have been "discussing" packet loss, error 007, and error 058 with GW for some time. I finally called my internet provider and we have discovered that this is possibly a problem with a possible provider that many of us are all routed through. I am not sure if I am allowed to say who, in case there is a big issue from it, but the problem for my routing is started at a place called "ALTER.NET" which from the looks of the test is someplace in the east area of the US. I am in Canada, and my server is unable to contact them. To let them know they are having packet loss issues, so hopefully, if more ppl do the ping test that GW would like them to do, the issue can be addressed sooner, then just one out of so many contacting them, and GW trying to "tweek" personal computers, because that is not the connection and lag issue here. It is probably some either faulty or massivly overworked routing server someplace in the states. I hope that with this post, more will contact GW with the ping test to show exactly what router server is giving us all grief and they can fix this sadly growing and frusterating problem for us!
Without this fix...I feel more will have problems to the point of being unable to play except at very slow times during the day. As it is, I see and experience error 007 in the late evening for me...9-midnight, which in EST is 3 hours earlier...peek times for many coming in to play. And yes I have seen a few error 007 out while in an intense mission, only to hear them shout on Vent that they got disconnected, so...this really needs to be addressed!
Lets get this thing fixed!

I had the same problem last night...2 error 007 around 11pm(PST) then I got a 058 and that was the end of my playing for the night. 058 error is a "routing" error. So as with my previous post..just goes to show, someone is having some troubles someplace. This needs to be addressed!

Just FYI

Me and about 6 real life friends all get this a few times a day at least. We all life in the UK, we get it if we use the EU or US servers. So i doubt its routing issues.

I also got that one once last night, and a couple of times since Factions was released. Before Factions was released, I never got it.

happened to me last light .. and now .. 2 tiems in 2 hours.. cant finish a damn mission .. really pissing me off.. clearing a zone for one hour for nothing !!

Yes it is, I had confirmation today with a GW tech that the issue is an ALTER.NET routing server that they are having a malfuntion with and they are working with their Network Techs to fix the problem, we just need to give them some time to solve it properly. The routing server with the malfunction is in the east of US. And as you can see from my profile...I am in Canada.

I just wish that they would inform the public so that everyone is aware and less short tempered about the error problems.

I got an err7 yesterday while skillcapping for quick experience with my survivor. When I got back on I had my first death on record and my survivor title progress bar stalled at 366k.

Extremely annyoing.

it's been hellacious and it happened, you guessed it, when linking chp2

Yes you wouldn't belive the stuff they try to get you to do to your own puter...been there with that virtual page. That was the point I said...hold on. THis is not right...I was fine playing for months....and I mean months...I am a beta tester of theirs!
The list was long, and I did forward my e-mail to my buddies so that they could see what has transpired.
I know that my internet provider has absolutely nothing wrong with it. I am on cable too!!!! So, after talking with them again, and showing then the tests that GW had me do that trace/ping thing, which I had done on 2 of our computers. They each had packet loss in the same spot. ALTER.NET which is out of the EAST of the States.....I'm in Canada!!
I got comfirmation from one of the techies from GW that there is a problem area...and it is a routing server, so lets give them time to fix it

Hopefully they will be speedy with it too.

I got err7 about 10 times yesterday....I live in the midwest, my dsl provider is in seattle....no wheres NEAR the eastern usa.

also got err50 too........

funny thing is both me and my husband were playing at our home, I get err7, he keeps on playing

I get kicked out and he doesnt, why? (we are on the same dsl line too).........I seem to get dropped more than he does. argh.

Maybe you should contact GW tech and have then troubleshoot through that with you.

no thanks, by the time they figure out whats wrong my grandkids will be in college (and I dont have any kids at this time).
Tried this before with them.....they never found any problems on their end and insisted it was us even AFTER I did that test of theirs.

Let's see... in the past year I've barely ever had connection problems with GW. I have noticed a marked increase in general lag in-town over the past few months, but I haven't had too much trouble beyond that.

I wish Anet would get a hold of their lag gremlins... it's getting more and more noticeable nowadays -- I couldn't connect at all this morning for maybe a half hour.... now I've had 2 err7's in the past 2 hours or so.... before the last one, I was getting intense lag while clearing parts of the Maguuma jungle with hench - the kind where u can't move at all for 5 - 10 minutes, then things start dropping dead around u and u start moving without doing anything....

I'm thankful I'm just working for the Trailblazer title... I would be so pissed if this new lag "feature" screwed me over whilst going for Survivor..

Then how come its affecting us Euro's just as much. Our traceroutes don't even touch the US. i live in the UK, and are only 4 hops from the Euro GW servers and still we get the same err=7 constantly over this side of the pond. Before factions we had never seen it before. Dont see how a router in the US malfunctioning explains the fact Euro players are experiencing this just as bad as you guys?

Because at SOME point you have to get to Anet servers to play the game...it is in the process that we are having troubles....I posted another thread in the Tech corner about it, GW tech gave me permission to submit part of my e-mail to alert others, pls read it.
