Hi all,

I am trying to customize my interface to move the Dialog boxes that pop up far too often off to one side. The problem I have, however, is that when I go into customize interface the Dialog option is not on my list in the check/un-check listing, nor is it visible on the screen as a movable item.

I was on vent with a guildie the other night and we compared our lists of customizable features. I had 2 he didn't and he had about 3 I did not. Can anyone help me unlock these hidden items please?

Well, I also posted this on GWO and with Tech Support. Tech support was sooo helpful with the following response:

Basically, they didn't bother to read the message I sent and understand that I am having trouble with their Client, not with figuring out the difference between a monk and a mesmer (aka the gameplay link).

So I am at the mercy of the community to figure out what is wrong with the GW Client such that I do not see the Dialog option in my Customize Layout menu as a changeable element.

I honestly have zero idea what the issue with your client is, though I doubt that it is something that is merely "unlocked" what features are you lacking? If you post them, perhaps some of us can take a look at our own clients and make sure that its not just something that is hard to find or something of the like.

The client shows you the options related to where you are. if you're in town, then you wont see the dialouge boxes for example, but if you're in a mission with lots of talking, you will.

I assume you are talking about the interface, and the big dialogue windows that are in the middle and annoying. I had them there too, but moved them to the left the very first day. I just tried to go into my interface to see what their names were, to put in here and it would appear that they no longer exist in my interface menu, so glad I moved them the first day. You may want to talk with the tech guys, see if they can have them reappear on the interface options again. It is possible that in one if their many updates, it got removed by accident.

I have tried to customize the layout both in town and outside, but I haven't tried a mission yet, maybe that will work.

Lurid, I am at work atm, but I will try to post the particular items missing from my list tonight.

Phantoma, yes that is exactly what I am trying to change. Those dialog boxes pop up so often now at the worst possible times it seems. I have died once or twice in a mission due to trying to close the dialog boxes that were blocking my view of the fight and not paying attention to the uber boss behind me with a big axe...

Just edit your interface whilst the dialogue boxes are in use by NPCs. For example, if Mhenlo and Cynn are chatting dick, edit it then and you'll be able to move the boxes.

The odd part about this was I and a guildie were on vent in a town and he could see the Dialog item on his list where I could not.

As long as I can move the darn things I will be happy. Now I just have to get through the next 8 hours of work...
