Great News!
I can't wait to get home and try it out.

The game was getting damn near impossible to play in any town past Kaining and Marketplace.
Worst by far was Maatu and the Luxon faction farming outpost.

I've been getting really bad lag all over the game. It's still bad enough I won't go near a mission, and it's frustrating to just run around explorable areas and kill things.

That is: Except for a brief reprive for about an hour, I haven't noticed an improvement post-update.

If you're still getting lag, it's your connection or computer, not Anet. The problem before was that you'd go into a town or area and your character would just stop and actions would be unresponsive, not that the game would freeze or anything. Now you can run around free as a bird.

I don't really know why this was moved to the tech corner. Lag removal is more of a global game issue than a computer/technical problem-solving issue. I guess we can celebrate in-game.

Funny how ANET blamed the major ISP carriers for the lag. All of a sudden the lag is fixed at the exact same time an update is released.

Whatever

Does it REALLY matter. Frieking conspiracy theorists with nothing better to do.
It's their issue, let them sort it out how they will.

As long as they've fixed the damn thing- it was excrutiating at times.

It's not my computer or connection. Or if it is, it's selectively picking on Guild Wars.

still lagging on guildwars like crazy.
Internet is absolutely fine and i am downloading at the same speed i've always downloaded at.
Everytime i enter a town my char just lags and doesnt respond to a command for about 5 min, and then i am kicked off the game with the usual error 7 message.

I am on euro server. I'm guessing its a server thing

Just a sidenote, download speed has much nothing to do with online games, as latency is more important when playing. Download speed, or bandwith isn't latency critical. For example, cable and satellite connections can download at high speeds, but their latency (ping) is far from good, making fast-paced online games annoying to play.

I'm hooked on DSL and on Euro servers and I haven't had any lag (in HzH) after the update, and I didn't even have any Err7's before that. Only Err7's I've encountered during my GW times have been from my router going nuts and disconnecting the net altogether.

I've been getting more lag now in other places. Random arenas last night I had lag. I errored out of random and alliance battles. The first error 7's I've had in weeks.
