looks like I will never get thru factions if I need 500watt ps and such...........think its back to tyria for me........(which runs just fine on my computer).

(btw I am hoping that I can get by with 200-300watts instead.... cause I think 500 would probably overheat and burn my house down )

Hi all,

I was having random game freezes as many have described on here. Basically after a random amount of time the screen would just freeze and the sound would judder and loop forever. If the catalyst VPU recovery option was on the computer would reset itself, if not I would have to manually reset to fix it.

My hardware is a small shuttle SN41G2, which is an AMD based nforce 2 system which I have fitted out with a modified ATIX800. At first I thought it was heat so downgraded the graphics option in GW and kept the lid of my system whilst it was against a nice cold draft... still lock-ups

Recently, with the introduction of the updated audio I was getting more and more lock ups. So I decided to update, not only my audio drivers, but also the directx9 to the April 2006 version. Since doing this I have had, touch wood, no freezes!

So the moral of my story is to check your audio and directx drivers first then start worrying about power supplies and heat.
