Requesting official statement from Anet about GW supported on Vista or not.
Windows Vista and Direct X 10 have been delayed to Jan 2007 depending on vista beta 2 feedback, that means after CH3 release within 2-3 months.
Since many of GW fans and i will upgrade to vista when it comes, i hope to hear official word from you guys that GW will be supported on vista and DX 10 or at least you are keep tracking this event. I don't want to choose between my new OS and my favorite game.  thanks in advace Anet. PS: i see beta testers participating in GWG forums..did they start testing GW on vista beta 2 and give Anet feedback about crashes or bugs ?!! |

I'd be suprised if you get an 'official statement'. Maybe a remark, but not an official statement. Regularly I see threads like 'ANET DEVS READ THIS', 'PLS ANET FIX THIS', 'OPEN LETTER TO DEVS', etc.
These shout outs on forum are numerous....... and never ending. Some have a point, some are pointless... I wonder if they will still read threads like this after the many that have passed their eyes in the past. But good luck, maybe they'll give it a peek... ~ Makk. |

One of the major tech sites did an artical about current popular games and how well they run (if at all) on Vista Beta 2.
Guild Wars ran with flying colors, even in windowed mode. |

Windows is still going to support compatability mode so I don't see why this is even an issue.

its a valid question!
but its so long away I agree with Makkert, they are not likley to give an official comment. Also, what actually are the chances of it NOT working?.. I hardly think that ANET will just ignore this. they will HAVE to make it work, otherwise Guildwars has a very short life. |

Why do you care? If you're smart, you're not getting Vista until forced to, at which point they've (hopefully) ironed out most of the serious bugs.

Actually, zakaria, people WILL be "forced", eventually.
If past experience serves as an example, when Vista is released, it'll instanty become pretty much impossible to buy a new system with XP. As long as you NEVER need a new computer... well then, great! |
