Default Friend Server

The friends list feature in Guild Wars (shortcut key 'n') constantly disconnects me, (every 10 minutes or so) forcing me to reconnect to the friends server. This problem has not stopped and is continuous even after messaging re-installing Guild Wars & Guild Wars Factions. I will NOT message support about it because every time I message support about anything, only more problems occur. I will not spend my time talking to an automated answering machine. I have also rebooted and checked my network connection several times. However before installing factions I have never had this problem. Please help.

[By the way listen to the reviews and dont buy Factions. Not worth the time, the money, and the awesome '100' new monsters they added that all have the same skin, which can briefly be summed up into -- Afflicted Mesmer, Afflicted Ranger, Afflicted Monk and so on.]

More or less internet connection related. I had the "problem" once, and it just resolved itself by just hitting on reconnect, haven't seen that ever since.

And yes, you should email the support. The first reply will be automatic, atleast it is most of the time, reply that and you should get a human reply.

[And I'm liking my Factions a lot, thank you very much. Go buy it now! HURRRR.]

The problem was fixed after reformating and installing a better version of XP. (Windows XP SP2 Corporate Russian) and then just reinstalling ONLY Guild Wars and not Factions.

I will never reformat a 500GB hard drive again.

Guild Wars == GW:Factions, there is no difference, the executables are the same.

Also, http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3060296

Maybe there's something similar in this came, sneaky P2P programs or something else choaking up the bandwith/stealing ports?

It has nothing at all to do with Factions, if GW is running good then factions will run as well since you allready have both on your computer, adding the factions key just lets you use the factions contetent allredy there. Updating the DirectX and all graphics drivers to the latest should solve the problem, and then erase the DAT file in the GW folder and let it redownload.

[Factions Rock's IMO, GO BUY TODAY]
