Accoung stolen

I’ve been playing Guildwars for 1 year now and have a few accounts.
But last night my friend told me someone was using my account so I quickly logged off and tried to get onto that account (I was shocked) it had been hacked!

I quickly went to my other account and spoke to that person and they just laughed at me. I then realized this person I knew and was a past friend. How can this be
I’ve heard of Key loggers etc and I’m 100% certain this is what this hacker has used. This person had sent me emails before hand because we got to know each other and now I believe it was a mistake since now they have stolen my account. I use Spy Doctor and it found a Key Logger on my computer and it deleted it off my computer.
Can I get my account back and if so how do I? I’ve contacted Guildwars support but they still have not replied back to me or maybe I sent it to the wrong help area. I still have the original CD key or log in key so I’m sure I can obtain the account back but I feel so stupid about this and don’t know how I can get help. I even know this person’s other account so I’m hoping they will be banned forever! What goes around comes around I say… They can burn for all I care

I hope someone out there will give me some helpful advice and help me get it back… (Begs of it to happen)

Ouch... Well the only thing you can do at the moment is report everything you know to A-net and hopefully they can give you your account back. I hope you get it back soon!

i think you are just unlucky and that a-net just can't help, because you could just have stolen that cd key (im not saying that you have done this but a-net just can't know that). So i think your account is now from your ex-friend. You probally already clicked on i lost my password, or didn't you?? if you are really lucky he didn't changed the email (but that would be stupid of him so this option don't gives you much chanche).
Are you sure that it is your friend that did it?? because keyloggers are not really easy in use, it could be that he installed a programm that is invisible in the task manager and that that programm has a keylogger inside. I know that programm exists because i had it. (it was called "golden keylogger" or something like that)

Its my account trust me and no my email has been changed so I cant get into it anymore. And I did find a key logger on my system which was high risk... I don't want to give anet my keys yet just incase this thing is still hiding on my computer... But it's kinda nasty for people to do this right? And if I have prove of owning it then Anet ought to help me obtain it back right?

Anet will always return accounts to the original purchaser. You will need to provide them the information they request, but you will indeed get your account back.

Any items/gold/characters on it that have been lost will not be reinstated.

the problem is: HOW CAN ARENANET MAKE SURE IT IS YOUR ACCOUNT??, because they cant now it unless your old email is still connected to that account (even when it has been changed) you could give them the email adress and then you could get it back. But do arenanet still knows wich emailadress was attached to wich account?? i don't think so. But i hope for you that arenanet finds a way to make sure that it is/was your account and that they give it back

Erm, I have the CD KEY... The hacker doesn't have it... So ARENANET have to reguard me and the owner of the Account. I have the proof of purchase of the Account. And mate, why would I post something if I didn't think it was not my account? Don't you think that is kinda stupid? I'm asking for help here and not someone to give the assumption of me not owning the account...

Server logs, email history, knowlege of things in the account (region, info given when signing up, items etc)...

By mailing/faxing your original cd-key insert to Arenanet, you can recover your account.

I reccomend a fax. You can use a fax machine at any Kinko's or copy store for a small fee, and that allows you to keep your original copy of the key.

When you get your account back, you should report your ex-friend to his IP provider aswell for hacking, they will know how to deal with him/her.
