guild wars on Intel iMac.......
Hey,
I'm about to purchase one of the new Intel iMacs- the one with a 2GHz dual core, 1 gig of ram and 256mb on the gfx. I'm going to run a dual boot so I can still run XP, but I'm interested to know if I can still play guildwars on it. I'm not sure if I should keep the PC or not. I guess having only one mouse button could be a problem, but I'm planning to get a two button mouse too. Has anyone tried running guild wars on one of these? I guess it should run pretty well, considering I currently have an Athlon XP 2400+ and have no problems. Cheers!

I'm assuming you're going to use Boot Camp, which will run games alright.
The notebookes run Doom 3 at about 30-50 FPS, which means GW will run well enough. You can see the PC to make extra money to buy Nightfall :P |

lol that mouse has 4 buttons actually.. you may not see them but they are there... touch sensitive FTW

i would love to have a touch sensitive mouse, because that is really cool.

thanks for the confidence boost.......wonder if windows crashes as much in an iMac as it does on my PC

I've done it on a mac mini, macbook pro and on an imac, all run as good or better then any windows machine i have worked with lately. Current versions of boot-camp full support multi-functional (right button, scroll, etc.) mouse options, the graphics and overall speed of town loading, movement in highly animated areas is great and the stability is just as well as any windows machine out there.
You should have no problems running Guildwars or many other gaming titles on an intel mac, although the mini's lower end graphics will limit your options (no oblivion). If you go with the i-mac you can upgrade (at purchase) with the ati card and the macbook pro already has a pretty high end ati card in it. I think you'll be quite happy with an intel mac. |
