This has probably already been reported at some point, but in case it hasn't:

If your team wipes and your pet is still alive, it does not rez with you at the shrine or appear with you at the shrine. Its health bar is empty. If you return to the point you were at when you wiped, your pet is nowhere to be found. Using "Comfort Animal" earns you the message, "Your pet is not in range". The problem is, your pet isn't anywhere. It's gone, period. To get it back, you have to zone, and often you don't want to do that.

Please ensure that when a party wipes, the pet is returned to the master's side when the party is rezzed.

That is odd, i have always experienced it that the pet will teleport the the res shrine even if it was still alive when the team rezzed.If it is happening like you said i would guess a bug.

If the pet doesnt die It cant rez, as its not dead :S

In my experiance the pet tends to attempt to make its way back to you, dies in the process and doesnt rez as you have all just rezzed so the party doesnt count as wiped.

Its just like if you party with henchies, and u wipe except for a one without a rez skill, say the ranger, you will all rez, she will make a very vain attempt at running from the enemy whose attention is now fully on her, and die.

This isnt really a bug, its just how the game works, you cant be teleported to the shrine and rezed if ur not dead, and since ur pet doesnt die when you do, it wont be rezed. Have u tried double clicking its name to follow it, or selecting its name to see if its hidden on ur radar somewhere?
