Honestly, with the size and cost of hard drives today, who really cares?

well this is wierd. I've been playing since GW came out, have both GW and factions, but my dat file is only 1.92Gig.

Why are you so hesitent about a thread? If you don't like it, that's fine but the OP might be researching in to the game's compression/decompression methods or something.

I'm guessing yours is a 3½ floppy.

Maybe the number of special events you've been around for matters - some of that junk might be in the dat file still. Its also gonna vary by how much youve done. I havent done much pvp or been to all the different guild hall types so mine will be smaller than the people who have done everything I have plus those.

Also, I noticed my game froze for several seconds last night when I went to the Balthazar rewards guy to look at paragon and dervish skills. It was downloading the icons for all the skills. So stuff like that will add to the size.

I uninstall and reinstall every 2 months but recently i havent atm its 2.253 gigs im gonna go reinstall

Mine is about 2.8 gb, and thats made with the -image command. About a month ago, I re-imaged after I was having archive corruption problems and the size dropped 200 mb.

Why reinstall? It will just get that big again when you visit more areas and stream the files.



Mine is at 2,561,133kb and theres still a lot i havnt downloaded.

I think some people are posting folder sizes. I have everything in Guild Wars downloaded and im at:

3.06 GB (3,291,738,112 bytes)
