Default Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 help

Ok, I need a few reasonable replies here. XP When I play Guild Wars factions with this card, It will freeze the screen, and play the same 2 seconds of the game music over and over. After about 30 seconds of this, It goes back to normal. That, AND when I go to a different area, and it loads it, It will take VERY long, and the group would have been done with a quarter of the mission by the time it finishes loading. I went to the nvidia website, selected graphics drivers, Geforce and TNT2 or whatever, and windows XP, and downloaded the drivers on that. Are those the latest ones? Because if so, That did not fix my problem at all.

Please help me,
Kam

I have this exact video card and haven't had any problems with it. What I would suggest, as long as you don't have any other applications that depend on it, is reinstalling the original drivers off the CD that came with the card instead of using the updated ones from the site. That's what I did and the game works great, other than a few background glitches that occur now and then.

Well there is a couple other issues, other then the vid card that you might be facing. First is how much RAM, second is your hard drive, next your internet connection.

Low FPS (frames per second) can be atributed to your card most of the time, where as long loads, screen freeze, etc. aren't so much the card but the data transfer rates in which your system requires to play the game. A longer then average load can be network congestion, hard drive fragmentation or errors, low system RAM. Screen freeze can alos happen due to the same issues.

Please share with us, the amount of RAM, net connection speed and last time you did a defrag/error check on your hard drive. If you're not sure how to find this info out we can walk you through it.
