Default Making a Gaming Account

Id like to create a gaming account on my computer that disables all services that are not necessary for maximum gaming potency. Does anyone know how to accomplish making this account?

You really don't want to mess with your services. There are a lot of sites that recommend disabling this service and that service, but overall it's a very bad idea.

If you want to optimize your pc for gaming. Cut down on the applications you have running and starting up with your computer. Defragment as needed (once every two months is sufficient as NTFS never really fragments). Be careful what you download and so forth.

If you really want to optimize your computer for gaming, also be sure to scan with an anti-virus (I recommend Avast) and some anti-spyware/trojan scanners (Try my Anti-Malware Professional Package).

Post a HijackThis log and we can fine tune your system to run at it's very best.

You may also want to let Windows manage your pagefile for better memory management.

You can create a dual winxp boot. You can make an account (users control panel) log into it and turn off all the extras and run explorer in *minimal* mode. You could also create a custom boot account (safe mode type boot) that you select when starting up that loads only the bare minimum services you need.

Your best option is to create an account with just your games loaded on that account running windows in minimal mode (no fancy bars, effects, etc.) and turn off any start-up programs that aren't vital to your gaming experience. (anti-virus, montoring software, communications software, etc.). Although it's been my experience that doing all these thing just won't dramatically improve any hardware performance to go through all the trouble of loggin in and out of accounts or setting up a dual boot system.

System maintenence is going to get you the best performance as tarun mentioned.
