Update your video card drivers and run a windows update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and let me know if your problem still persists.

"im a newbie," if you cannot figure out how to update your drivers, I can step you through the process if I know what sort of video card you have. To find out your video card, do the following:

Go to Start
Go to Settings --> Control Panel
Double Click on Display
Go to the Settings tab in the window that opened.

You should see a picture of a computer screen, and underneath it, a line that reads "Display:" with some text underneath it. My window looked like this:

I circled the line in red. If you could tell me what that line says in your window, it would be a great aid to helping you work thorugh the issue. Thanks!

Well, I think the repair guy must have screwed around with your version of Windows >< Cause before I heard on the news to update your computer on their website your version of Windows had to be genuine in other words, real.

Not necessarily screwed around with it. The genuine windows verification just checks the key used when installing windows. The guy probably used one of the thousands of keys floating around the net instead of the key used to originally install windows.

If you have the original windows discs, and an extra install on them remaining, you *could* reinstall your entire operating system...
