Question Antialiasing bug...

I have a bug with antialiasing failing to work half the time in Guild Wars. When this bug occurs, antialiasing is gone and text becomes blurrier [see attached screenshot]. This happens after a loading screen, and happens again or not after every loading screen. I have recently done a clean install of my system with updated all drivers and this bug still happens. My GW settings are all max, 1600x1200, 4x AA, 8x AF. I run Athlon64 4000+, eVGA 6800 GT PCI-E, A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo, 1 GB RAM, DX 9.0c. This bug started occuring ever since the Sorrow's Furnace update, so it has bothered me for a long time. Any way for a fix? Thanks.

The only temporarily fix for this right now is restoring and maximizing the window of GW [constant hassle].

That's very odd. Have you tried running at 2xAA and gotten the same results?

Have you tried disabling them in Guild Wars and forcing them via the cards control panel?

Or visa versa, disable them in the cards control panel and apply them from within Guild Wars.

I actually get this bug with X2 AA. Regular AA and the rest work fine. I've haven't seen a blur in 1XAA.

I have to turn them on in GW if I want to have 'post process effects' on. I want them on.

I'm using the latest NVIDIA driver 81.98. Have tried as old as 78.xx I think. Anything before that has other GW bugs.

I get blurry text with a plain 6800 with 3xAA but I play with 4x and have no problems.

sorry to resurrect the thread, but I'm also getting the same issue. Last night I noticed that my ATI control center had disappeared so I reinstalled it it fixed several graphic errors I was getting. I did notice that I got this error and then it disappeared. When I loaded up GW today it was back and it's everywhere. From the moment the game starts all the text is blurry.

I've attached an image to give you an idea.

Also noticed this when in my guild hall.

Notice the haze on the left side of my avatar?

computer specs:
amd athlon 64 s939 3000+ 1.8 GHz
ocz gold el 2x512mb pc3200
ati radeon x800xl 256 pci-e (dual monitor, don't think this will effect anything, it hasn't yet, but it never hurts to give all the info)
gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9

game specs:
1280x1024
internal graphic settings maxed (AA x4)
ATI Catalyst Control Center setting maxed (AA x6, AF x16)
