Default Oh look fuzzy text!

Ok so my bro loaded GW today and basically the text is pretty much unreadable because its so fuzzy. We checked the settings and everything is set to high or normal, and the rest of his graphics are fine, but his text is just... fuzzy! He is running DirrectX 9 and everything else has been updated.. We aren't sure why this is an issue... Any ideas?

Sounds like you're using Anti-Aliasing. Turn it off in your settings and see if that does anything.

Is he playing on an LCD screen with a resolution of the game set to lower than the max resolution of the monitor? If you have it lower, then raise it to the max the monitor supports. On my LCD, I have to have it at 1280x1024 or eveything looks fuzzy/blurry. Also, try turning V-sync off, Anti-Aliasing just makes all the textures smoother and not fuzzy.

On some older graphics cards anti-aliasing will make bitmap graphics (e.g. fonts) fuzzy.
However, I suspect Riplox is right about the cause: flatscreen running at non-native resolution.

ok it's not a flatscreen and we turned the anti-aliasing off.... His graphics card is better than mine... But after a test run on my PC I have discovered that its either his monitor or something on his PC, because his GW ran fine on mine.
I guess we will trial and error it! Thanks all!

Turn off geometry instancing and "alternate pixel center", im not sure which one causes it but I had the same problem when i had them on, so i just unchecked both. This is what theyre called with ati drivers, not sure about nvidia.
