Default Guild Wars Will Not Start

So I havent been able to play guild wars for a long times basicaly due to no time. So today I finally had time to play. So i go and click on guild wars and try to start it up. It opens up fine then downlaods some new patches that i did not have yet. Then the game kind of closes itself and reopens. Then it will just sit there at 0% loading while saying connecting to A.net, i waited some 10 mins before i gave up on itand it was still at 0% then. Can some 1 Plz help me?

Im not really to great with computers but i checked my firewall which has it allowed. I have not changed anything to my computer from the last time i played. Unless soembody else fooled around with it but i dont think so. So i am completely stuck. So can Some1 plz help me out?

P.S. I usually dont have enough time to get on the computer every day so if som1 does give me a response i might not get it for another day or so.

I am not sure what kind of internet you have but their have been ALOT of updates in the past couple weeks. It may take a long time to download the updates.

Reinstall then run game once with -image added to the target: GW shortcut > Properties > Target.

So it looks something like this: "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
(including the ""'s, but they already there.)

Then run the shortcut and gw will first start to download _all_ maps and _all_ patches. (can take a good while, its upwards of 1Gb and remove the -image when done).

Alternatively you could reinstall gw, take a DVD-Rom or Removable Hard Drive to a friend that has a current working copy, and copy his Gw.dat file (in gw install folder) onto it.

Back home simply replace the existing gw.dat file with the one u copied from your friend.

Asuming there are no network problems, that stop you from connecting, this will probably work.
