Default bad problem

was playing gw last night like i usualy do and my game suddenly starts to lag....thinking this was a temporary problem I go to bed;the other morning I wake up,start guild wars and the same problem....major lag....I left the pc and came back after about 6-7hours and still the same problem.....so I uninstall the game and then begin to reinstall it.....put the disks in,install the game and the update begins....but now an even bigger problem.....the game is only updateing at exactly 1 kb/sec constantly......any sugestions on how to resolve the problem??

it sounds like there are two possibilities: 1), you internet connection is bad. 2), you are running out of harddrive space. check your harddrive to see if you have at least 4 gb or not. then check your internet connection. if all those are fine, it is possible you have a virus/spyware/trojan that's eating up your internet bandwidth. do a full system scan with you spyware remover and virus scan.
