blue screen of death
 I've been playing gw for 1 year now and never had 1 problem now since the update I play for a few minutes then BANG BSOD  I heard that they updated the graphics engine but I still don't think I should have a problem.my system 3 ghz p4 asus pcie mobo 1 gig mem 200 gig HDD 75 gig free asus X600 128 meg video pcie (ATI) onbourd 3d sound can it be my rig somehow I changed nothing just the update any help would be great |

Err...I've never experienced a BSOD on Windows XP. In fact, I believe XP removed the BSOD and replaced it with something else.
Are you running on Windows 98 or something? Guild Wars' system requirements are low, but I wouldn't reccomend playing on Windows 98. |

They do have the BSOD on XP its just a lot different than from Win98 and only comes up if something is really really wrong.
You should have no problems running the game as I have a lesser system and it runs fine for me... I'd check for any viruses and such on your computer itself. You shouldnt be getting BSOD just by playing GW. |

BSODs are still there under XP. Nearly all of the time, they are caused by driver-level crashes. Next time it blue-screens, look at the details more closely. It should tell you what module caused the crash. Google that file, and you should be able to determine what the component does and who it belongs to.
It could be that there is a buggy routine in your graphics driver that wasn't getting called before, but with recent graphics updates it's now being hit. |

Or simply disable the "auto - reboot prior crash" function and actualy read what is written on the BSOD.
The info there is REALY helpfull  If you need a walktrought of how to do it just drop me a line here or by PM and I will foward you the configuration needed step by step. Latter. |
