Recently, i've been having a loading problem. The loading bar takes about half a second to a full second to load from 0% to 100% like it normally does. But now after its at a 100% it takes another 30seconds to a minute before the game even loads. Hasnt always been this way, usually took 10 seconds max before i loaded the screen. and i havent changed my system specs at all. Is this just a GW preview event thing or is something dying in my machine?

Specs:
2.66ghz Celeron D
fx5700 Geforce
1 stick of 512 memory(generic brand)
80g HD ~80% Free space

Hmmm.

Normally that would be a graphics card problem.

Hmm, how do you come to that conclusion?, the delay your experiencing will be to do with the nightfall preview event, this is happening to alot of people, me included, it should be ok after the event is over.

One thing though, if you can invest in another 512mb of ram, your loading times into areas will be reduced further..

the fast load bar is caused by your internet connection. means its doing good.
the slow load means the game is having to load the entire area into ram, but there isnt enough ram, so it has to put it on the harddrive as temporary ram. Upgrading to 1gig should do a huge difference for you

this has been occuring around the preview event. i'll wait and see how it is afterwards.

will it still load this slow when the retail version comes out?

your ram is trying to handle the increased things to load on screen. that, combined with increased load on the GW servers is going to slow you up, and keep you slowed. after nightafall has been out a while, things might go back to where they were, but chances are it will never be smooth loading again.
