Default Choppy PvP

I noticed recently that while I'm PvP'ing, it gets a little choppy at certain points. When the enemy come into view (when I'm able to see their names by holding Ctrl) it gets a little choppy for a few seconds, then in a few seconds when we get closer, it returns to normal. It doesn't affect my game play really, but it gets annoying and raises some suspicion. This happens in RA, HA, and GvG, but I never noticed this before in Random Arenas.

This isn't a problem in PvE. Tried looking for places with a sizable amount of monsters, and didn't have any problems. I ran Counter-Strike: Source (has higher system demands) and played on a 20v20 server and didn't have any troubles. My friend who was in the same PvP party as me didn't notice any problems. He lives in the same city, has the same Internet service, and I high have a higher performance computer than him.

Could this be a problem with my computer, Internet, router, or can it be a server side problem? My computer has a 3.2GHz Intel processor, 2GB of RAM, and a nVidia 7900GT. It's connected by a Linksys Wireless USB adapter. I have a 1mbps Internet connection. I've tried opening the port 6112 in the Windows Firewall and the router. I've also tried defragging the Gw.dat file (degragged to 1 fragmentations). What could the problem be? Anyone else experiencing this kinda of problem?

Try using a wired connection to your router, rather than going wireless. Wireless connections have a habit of being more likely to lag or diconnect.

Ok, I've tried playing RA a bit with a direct connection to the cable modem, and still have the problem. I also tried completely removing the firewall.

It's as if things get choppy 'cause it loads the models of the enemy, but should this really happen with my Internet connection and my system specs? Any ideas? Simular experiences?

Removing computer defenses to play a game is a NONO..

Update your drivers.

Hehe, yeah. But I was just testing to see if it was the firewall.

I've updated my video card drivers to the latest and deleted the old ones with Driver Cleaner Pro.

I went to do some RA to see if it helped, and nope it didn't. I also lowered the AA to none, and all the graphics settings to medium, and left the resolution at 1024 x 768. Still had the same issue.

Is the problem only GW related?

I'm assuming it is. I didn't notice any problems while playing Counter-Strike: Source, or the last time I ran 3DMark06.

I'm going to run 3DMark06 again sometime to see if there's any significant drop in the score or if there are any problems.

Not sure if my Internet connection could be the problem, but testing it on a wired connection ruled out the wireless adapter.

I ran 3DMark06 and had a simular score to the first time I ran 3DMark06. I'm starting to think it could be the software or connection to the servers. My friend frequently lags due to his video card, so now I'm not so sure that he doesn't have the same problem I have in PvP since he might not notice it.

Not really part of the problem, but I also noticed that while playing in the Nightfall arena with the river going from your own base all the way to the opponents base and a big bridge over the river (horrizonatal while facing the opponent at the beginning of the match) in the middle, there's a flash of white light when the gates open. Anyone notice anything like this?
