I have tried the following
spyware removal
firewall removal
checking admin status
making sure folder isnt read only
defrag
reinstalling the game
deleting dat file
Making sure i have free space (260gig HD with 63% free space)
It just seems to do this when I installed steam for CSS and HL2 not sure how that would affect it but im just putting down all the new configs ive done

PLZ HELP heres the Screenshot

SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME i do not want to reformat my computer again... and that is the only thing ive done to fix it before but i just reprogrammed yesterday I dont want to do it again

if you have more than one accounts on your computer

it is possible thta your acount is not administrator.

Check the path in the windows registry.... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARENANET\GuildWars -- check the path and SRC - if these Are not correct, fix them, and try again, otherwise, delete the Registry entry totally, then try it..

well it is now happening everytime there is an update... i was just playing, then it said new build now its doing it again... wtf.. im not gonna reinstall everytime there is an update someone please help nothing else has worked

and now it wont even let me reinstall in program files.. i mean.. wtf i just reformatted 4 days ago.. this is getting annoying im tired of reinstalling, and reformatting to accomidate this RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing game... anyone have any ideas at all

so yeah still doin it.. would be nice to get a solution so I dont have to keep reinstalling GW every time I close it and DL'n a new DAT file

If you dont have your gw installed to the default directory, do so. I've had this problem before when I had GW installed on my second HD, then it gave me that problem and I had to reinstall in the default directory.

Reinstall is the solution right now.

Also if you havent already, talk to Support. If its doing the same thing every time they put out a new build theres something else wrong.

Run RegEdit. If you don't know what that means, don't do anything. You can really mess up your machine.

Sorry, but if you have to ask how to edit the registry then it's better that you don't go there. You can quite easily make your machine un-bootable by messing around with registry key's and strings.

Make sure you install and play Gw on your computers admin account, guest accounts don't let you install new files.
