Default Errors connecting to Arena.net (new connection)

I have just got my new connection and was going to play guildwars as one would do and it would seem that I got the first small box screen open and it would not do anything else. The "connecting to arena.net" applet remained at zero and there was very little progress.

Is there any reason why this could happen or indeed what is there that needs to be changed. I am quite computer literate, but still I cant see what the problem is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading this post..

I should maybe present the problem with a little more gusto. I have changed my ISP and now when I connect it seems to just come up with 0 percent progress in the way of connecting to arenanet. My connection is just fine on the whole apart from this. I wanted to get the newer versions of GW but if it doesnt work then I dont really have the intertia to do so. Is there any help you can offer again..

thanks

A couple of guildies of mine had the same problem. One installed the Zonealarm firewall and it worked, for the other, no dice. We're still working on it, and once we figure out anything else I'll make sure to let you know.
