Either it's your Video Card or your Internet provider.

What a load of shite! If you don't know then please refrain from typing junk!

I've never had a problem logging into Guild Wars, yet tonight I can't get in! I have a top end video card and a decent 8MB MaxDSL line so please advise me as to what my problem is!

try logging in tomorrow but i have a bit slower loading time than before but not much change on my part and its no way its the VC cause i play with radeon 7000 and it has no prob. GW is VERY flexible

Yeha, having lag issues today too, cant even run the game, pretty much rubberbanding and cant change outposts etc. Its not vid card or my connection, something is up with servers atm.

Im running a ATI x800 all in wonder, and my internet is fine, actually my ping is lower in counterstrike than usual so......

I love the instant post that says you are dead wrong if you think its my internet connection or my system thats the problem.

Heres a news Flash for you, your internet connection is a complex tree like system. (Ok so maybe these statments were a bit hostile) It uses default assigned gateways and routes that are stored at your CO. Just because you can play another game, connect to another server, or have a pretty ping, it dosn't mean that the route in use to access the Guldwars Data center you are being refered to does not have a problem. Please before you run over someone in a thread for making a suggestion on a problem, get your facts straight or atleast give them a bit of leway. I played for 8 and half hours today, not one bit of lag, not one bit of rubber banding, not one single problem.

This indicates one of 3 things, a local system problem, a local service issue, or a service issue outside of your control. If you are sure its not A or B then it is most likely C.

I have a desktop tool from ITR that links to the itr website that shows the average Global ping and packet loss. Today there were count them 5 major hubs out each in different zones and each one being Major blocks for different providers, even a hub in huston that my services are on was out. The Average Ping In the US was at 55 with an Average Packet Loss of 41%. A packet loss above 5% at anytime constitues some serious connectivity problems especially for systems that use thin clients. The global trend between the time of 10:25 and 14:25 was a sharp downward spike into packet loss city.

While this alone may not explain all individuals problems for the day it will certainly explain some.

Had exact same problem as OP, it lasted for about 3 weeks starting from the NF preview and I tried EVERYTHING, windows point restore, old/new video drivers, fully scanning my hdd for spyware, defragging, nothing worked and yes my internet is fine. Then one day, 3 weeks late GW suddenly started working, for NO reason...
