Default Graphics card

I am currently using intel graphics, but want to upgrade, but would also like some advice on what PCI (Not Express) graphics card to get with my £40 budget? and with £40 will it even be an upgrade?

I think anything can be considered an upgrade over intel graphics..

An old style PCI graphics card limits you alot, are you sure your motherboard doesnt support AGP?

If not, then i suggest an ATI Radeon 9200 PCi, shouldnt set you back more than £30 if you know where to look.

They are old cards now, but will be able to run GuildWars better than Intel.
I also suggest upgrading to at least a motherboard capable of running AGP.. but for now you should be content with that graphics card i suggested.

That motherboard supports PCIe, why would you want to install a PCI video card?

Trust me on this, hold off until you can get a PCIe card. Otherwise, you are just wasting your money. In fact, the graphics on board are just about equal (if not a little better) then a low end PCI card.

If you are going for budget, look into the ATI X300. They come with what they call "Hyper-Memory", where it uses some on the card, and some of your system memory for more power.

In fact, I found a card just like that for £30.55.

So double check to make sure you have PCIe, then get a card like that (or even a little better). At the same site, I found an X550 for £47.47. That is a much better card, because it has 256 MB of RAM on-board, and does not take any from your system memory.
