Since removing the router from the path - NO Lag issues. I am curious as to how many people with lag spikes have a router connected. Try disconnecting it while gaming.
I don't have a router, my computer is about 3 feet from my cable modem. I used to be wireless Through a wall and I had never had a problem with lag or err7's. The only problem I had was when the internet was off or down.(not really a problem - no internet lol) All of the lag spikes have happened about the same time others are having them.

I never had a problem until a week ago. In have always used a router for security reasons way before playing GW. This is a server problem or connection of people to certain servers. This is NOT our problem. We are NOT the solution. Someone is responsible and it needs a fix.

I disconnected my router to see if it would help. I do not feel this is a fix - my PC is now wide open for attack. Plain and simple this problem is severe BS.

This seems to be getting worse. Last night, I errored 6 times in less than an hour. I got the clue and turned off Guild Wars for the night.

This morning I logged on, left my character idle, and checked back every 15 mins or so. Pretty much every other time I checked, I saw myself kicked back to the login screen, with an error 7 message. It seems to be happening about every half hour now. This is completely unacceptable.

The lag has gotten to a point where i really dont feel like playing. I logged on this morning and went to Ta with some alliance people. A minute into the first match, err7. Log back in, a minute into the next match, another err7. I just dont feel like logging on anymore. The err7 have gotten out of control.

A friend and I were out in the maguuma jungle a couple days ago and we both lagged out for about a minute and a half. We were both talking on ventrillo at the time so we can both confirm that it was a server side connection issue.

Yesterday I was doing the bonus on ice caves with some henchies. I spent the next 5 minutes rubber banding back to the same spot after I started the bonus.

I must be one of the lucky ones that hasn't experienced what many seem to have.

I have only had one err 7 ever and the lag is no where near as bad as some have mentioned.

Noticed this problem last night, I would be running along and then appear back where I've started. After a few minutes of getting "Rubber Banded" like the previous poster said. I would get disconnected as well.

LOTS of problems today. Decided to do a few quests I still needed...well, that didn't last long. After 30 minutes....lag spike....err=007. Logged back in. 5 minutes later...lag spike and about 6 minutes of my character spinning in circles, teleporting around, and rubberbanding. Got fed up and closed out.

I highly, highly doubt its a problem on my end, because:

1. I've NEVER had a lag problem (like many that have posted) until very recently.
2. Besides GW, my connection is fine. Download speeds are still great, no trouble with websites.

But then again, I'm no tech, so who knows. *shrug*

Conclusive proof this is not a clientside problem.

Isn't there a tool to help ANET track down Lag issues? Gaile posted it sometime ago.

DL it and submit lag reports to ANET.

Well I already sent one. I think other people that are having the problem should make sure they do, as well.

There is a diagnostic you can run on your system. I attached the copy to my question. I hope to hear something soon, but we will get nothing if only a few people ask.

Please post. I found the link at the login window. Simple way to get to a solution -- hopefully!

I also gave them the link to this thread.
well i got an interesting answer from the customer support - after mentioning that tech suppost dosnt work on weekend (when we need it most IMHO) they asked me few times in the row if GW is allowed to connect and did i checked my firewall recently (!), and then they said that i should reinstall my firewall God i'd rather work in customer support, isnt it perfect to get paid for saying anything at all w/o reading a Q? on a serious note i guess they're being bombarded by err7-connected tickets, so they're perfectly aware of the problem. would be nice to hear smth from them tho....

Reinstall the FW..nice. So everyone, reinstall your firewall and all lag spikes will be fixed *sarcasm*.

What sucks about this whole lag issue is that your character can be ANYWHERE and doing nothing and it will still spike. I lagged out when I was just standing in the guild hall. There were only 3 people in the hall at the time.

it sure as hell isn't your firewall. i have a list of things it isn't

1)It's not your network if you're on a business or campus network. if you mail them they will say "your ports prolly aren't open" and you will call your network admin and they will say HEY they're open.

2)It's not the firewall, i've went as far as disabling my firewall completely and that helped NONE.

3)It's not your connection. I've tried on 3 or 4 different connections, including a wireless, none of which worked.

4)It's not your GW client. I reinstalled the .dat files, still didn't work.

NCsoft, get your heads out of your butts.

It's not so much the drops that piss me off, its the not acknowledging a problem.

When my ISP is having tech problems all the major support tickets are available to the public on the website, you can just go there and see if there are any reported problems with the network. All problems are updated when fixed or more info is available. Well, that's good service.

Perhaps Anet should consider making single-player games in the future if they can't act like a responsible service provider and keep their customers informed.

i dont really expect anything from NCSoft support. They will most likely send you back here or give you some lame excuse like your connection/firewall/windows/sun radiation.
Whenever I was able to reach alive person, aswers were always by different people and always so random and meaningless... They will do anything just to avoid direct answer like its their life depend on it.

EDIT:
oh yes, Nemon said it right

i sort of doubt these are even people answering...does this sound like something a real person would say?
