Yeah I was looking for a place to play poker with some friends and got myself a nice little keylogger that Ad Aware caught this morning. I had already decided it wasn't all that great and removed the program from my computer but obviously the keylogger was still around and was thusly caught and hopefully deleted.

Right now I am running Spybot S&D, then I will run AVG - how can I be sure I got rid of this bugger and is there any way to be sure that anything I've accessed since that download is safe?
Any other reliable free software that I can use to scan my PC with would also make me feel a bit safer. I'm very noob at hijack this but with someone walking me through it I can manage maybe

spyware doctor is currently tops in detecting keyloggers/rootkits.

free scan but pay to remove what you have.

or use the info from the scan to manually delete it.

it installs the full program then let it update for latest definitions then do a full system scan.

Run Microsoft Windows Defender, SpyBot Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware personal edition (all free).

I would also do a complete virus scan.

Thanks guys, Spybot came up with a whole crap load of stuff, but thats supposedly all gone now. AVG came up completely clean. I've cleared all cookies and searched my computer for any traces of the program it was connected to and removed them from my computer.

I am now currently working with Spyware Doctor, thanks Loviatar!

Eternal Tempest I have no clue what Defender is but I will check into that next.
I think I got the bugger regardless as well as a few other possible annoyances, however when all is said and done I will reboot and run all this junk one last time.
My main concern is I'm not sure when I last accessed the credit card accounts to make payments... I'm not sure if it was before or after I downloaded the keylogger and I'm worried about how big of a threat it could pose atm.
I mean I have gotten keyloggers in the past and just deleted them and never thought twice, but something makes me itchy about this one (can we say paranoid much?).

Edit Update: So Spy Doctor found a trojan and some other stuff that wasn't major but all thats gone now and no longer an issue (I'm so glad I am not a total idiot when it comes to computers). I just finished downloading Windows Defender and its currently searching my computer. I always do deep scans, and thats why this has taken me ALL FRIGGEN DAY! But seems my PC is just about clean of any and all annoyances and potentially harmful bleh. Thanks guys for the assistance and as soon as I am sure my PC is in the clear I'm going to go about changing passwords and such. *sighs* such is life I suppose -_-
