Default Please help...

I meet the mini/recommended all the way across on my system yet...
Even on the lowest of low settings I get 2-4 fps on the main menu...

((Still in the process of doing the - command that decompresses the game after downloading the entire thing.. its 19% done.. when its done, I'm going to defragment it all over again and reboot, defrag again for safety... and try it then..... because.. thats my last hope that I can think of.)

I've tried...
- commands on shortcuts such as
-dx8
-nosound
Didn't help.

I've defraged, even useing special programs listed on this site.
No change.

I've updated my graphics drivers, sound drivers.
No change.

Checked my Audio/Video PCI ports to make sure they arn't useing the same.
They werent, no change.

I've Uninstalled / Reinstalled (Cache Issue)
No change.

I've during all of this, had it on the lowest res/settings there are.
No change.

Maybe one or two other things I can't recall right now...
Nothing has helped...

________________
I used to play on my older card, the ATI 9250 256mb pci, it ran this smooth 100% of the time easily. Now I'm on an ATI Xtasy x1300 256mb PCI, my friend has a cheaper version of this card and it works fine, but not for me ! not now! I don't know why, I'm clueless and hopelessly lost and can only pray somebody has come up with new ideas to solve this. I've googled, checked these forums, and if somebody has found the real issue they haven't exactly yelled out that the x1300 is or isn't the issue, and there is or isn't a fix for it.

The x1300 should run this flawlessly on fairly high settings, it over-meets the recommended requirements, and you can't say its the pci bus as my old 9250 ran this fine... (Just saying... =()

Lowest settings possiable - 2-10 fps tops. Its unplayable unbareable and saddening please help me....

(Side note, what is AGP Acceleration and should it be on? I have the option with this card where as I didn't with my 9250, I've left it disabled.. not really sure if it'd work for this card and the name is worrying as its not an AGP card, just thought I'd leave that to somebody who knows what they are talking about to tell me, I don't exactly trust some of the things said in google ect ^.^)

Not that this will make such a huge difference, but do you have Directx 9 October update? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Bare in mind all the following is just to test if your video card is performing the correct way.

Turn off Anti-aliasing via your ATI control panel, also turn off Anisotropic. I'd set the in game resolution to 800x600 using no AA, basically set all detail settings to low then test. If this is still aproblem let me know via PM as I have a list of things you may wish to try, it's just convoluted and I dont have time right now to type the list of things to troubleshoot (dinner time!)

Try this:

1. Download ATI drivers (Latest 6.11) from here: http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html and select "Catalyst Software Suite"

2. Download Drivercleaner from here http://www.drivercleaner.net/downloa...roSetup_15.zip

3. Remove your video card drivers via your control pannel (do not reboot if it asks).

4. Run drivercleaner and select "ATI", then select "Start". (Driver Cleaner will remove parts of drivers that are left after uninstalling the old drivers you did earlier).

5. Reboot PC.

6. Install the ATI drivers you downloaded.

7. Reboot.

8. Run the ATI control pannel and make sure all settings are set to performance.

9. Test Guildwars.

If the problem is still present reinstall motherboard drivers and do a Windows XP update via here and install all updates and make sure .Net Framework is installed if it's in the list.: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. I'd enable AGP Acceleration too.

Well I tried the defrag thing, tried my personal defrag option aswell (Diskeeper) and tried to use the driver you listed, doesn't work. (Said the driver itself isn't compatable with the x1300? Meh...) I'm left in the cold =(

Ok.. now I have a NEW issue.. I downloaded the x1300 driver download.. said its not compatatable? .. *Cries* whats going on!!

keep in mind that the x1300 can put out much better graphic quality than the 9250, so that might be overwhelming your PCI bus. that might be the cause for much of the problems.

1. I need help figureing out why no driver is viable and how to do a 100% uninstall of drivers.. and install a driver.. because.. I thought I knew, but no driver is saying its compatable with the card I have .. even the ones ment specificly for the x1300. * Correction.. I just had to reboot before installed.. stupid mistake ^.^ .. just tired. However, even with the old driver you asked me to try installed, no luck.. same stutter.

2. The thing about the graphics overflowing the port.. if it doesn't overflow on fear or doom3 .. why this =( .. and *Diffently* not this on the lowest settings.. this looks like a terriable terriable eyesore on the lowest settings but still lags. (Plus I tried it in dx8 and nosound options and it still had this issue =( its honestly looking like a driver glitch issue.. rendering it or something.)

*Pouts* v.v

Addition:

I turned the graphics to highest.. then lowest.. then highest.. its like the lag feels 100% the same.. yay? ... wonderful.. not a single change, shadows, textures..terrian.. the lag stays the same.. low.. high.. res changes.. its not worse or better. I can look at the ground and run around all I want, but I try to look around its kind of laggy no matter what, but unplayable if I were to try to fight for sure.

*Update*
Its not my graphics card.. finnished clearing out the drivers and installing even an Omega driver. Same thing, found out a guildmate has a x1300 and hes fine... so.. suggestions on what ELSE it may be? Please !

Issue: I get 6fps at the main menu.. not my video card, less ingame as far as fps goes, lowest settings, save me ~ please.

Did you install motherboard drivers, is it a VIA chipset?
