Default Laptop Screen Blackouts

My laptop has been having stnage blackouts for the last few weeks. I can usually turn it on normally, but the screen will start flickering so fast, it appears to be darker. Then it will start flashing black until it nearly blacks out. The process seems to speed up if I play GW or other games.
Has anyone ever heard of/seen this problem?

I'll post system stats when I get back home.

well, with my laptop its a little different. Sometime when I zone the screen turns to all one color (based on teh zone, in elon is usually tan) with a bunch of white dots. But it only happens when I'm playing full screen.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have the same problem on another one of my laptops. What causes this is when the flourscent light or the LCD screen start to fail. This can be fixed but the cost may be more than you will be willing to part with. Take the laptop to a shop and have them look at it to see exactly what is going on, then decide whether it is worht fixing (mine is sitting on a shelf atm). Good Luck,

Mega Mouse
