I'm doing 1475 Mhz to 2500 Mhz (or more) on air which was not uncommon with a DULTC stepping (1.5 volt Athlon XP CPUs). 99% of all the XP Tbred CPUs were 1.6 volt though.

Then the mobiles started coming out in force and my ol DULTC was not so special anymore =D

Amazing what a $60.00 CPU and a $40.00 half a pound block of copper can do.

But I am oh so tempted to get one of the new 3200 Venice CPUs! Good number of people are getting real good OCs on air with em (in the 500-800 Mhz gain range).

It's not overclocked. The clock speed of the 3400+ is 2.4GHz, I was simply writing the stock speed because I hate keeping track of the numbers.

Actually if you participated in the HL2 survey of PC hardware via Steam, Intel edges out AMD by a very small margin. I'm assuming of course the results of that survey apply to gamers across the board. I run my gaming system on AMD of course.

I thought 3400+ runs at 2.2GHz stock. Could be mistaken.

My whole rig costs less than some video cards.

Intel Celeron 2.0 on an old ASUS board with only PCI expansion
1 GB PC2700 RAM
ATI Radeon 9250 256Mb video card
Onboard Sound

It plays the game fine.

Default P4 and a P3

I have two computers for this cool game.

GAME BOX:
Dell 4600
P4 2.8 800FSB
1.5GB ram
True ATI 9800Pro 128MB
I have maxed out this little box.
I left a PCI slot "opened" next to the AGP slot for cooling

OLD GAME BOX:
Dell 4100
P3 800
512MB ram (MAXED)
Geforce4 TI4200 128MB (More then enough for this older processor)
I turned down ALL the graphics in the game for this box. But it does not look that bad.

They both work very well. Nothing is overclocked.

You have the exact same PSU I used to have, Serafita Kayin told me to throw it away because it was crap and fried one of my HDDs.

Kill it before it tries to kill you first.
